Borei: Finished & Finishing Checklist

I am slowly but steadily reaching my goal of completing Borei! There is actually not much more to be done, other than a few more house expansions and designing character rooms. This part usually takes the longest for me because a lot of the items I cannot obtain on my own and require trading. The actual landscaping for this town has been completed for a while now, so it’s just a few more things before the town is finally presentable! This post is going to detail what I’ve finished and what needs to be finished. I will also refer to this post later to check off things as I do them.

Finished Parts of Borei

Landscaping - This was actually the first thing I got done and it has been done for a while now (probably after my first few months of playing this town!!). Landscaping is my favourite part of the game but I usually steamroll through it and get burned out when it’s done, leaving everything else (like my houses) unfinished.

All Villagers obtained - This came hand in hand with landscaping. My first few original villagers were bird villagers (Sparro, Blanche, and Phoebe) so I decided to go with a bird theme after that. They were also conveniently plot into good locations from the beginning, so I was able to landscape my paths and subsequent plots around their houses. Mallary was adopted through someone on Discord, Butch was adopted on the Bell Tree Forums, and Avery, Wade, Ken, Bea, and Piper were invited through my amiibo cards. I have two dogs in town to represent my beagle, who loves chasing birds!!

Left to right: Mayor Malis, Nary, Bora, Sann
All four residents and their outfits. Because I no longer need to plot reset for villagers, I have also made all four of my permanent residents and designed their outfits. If some terrible accident were to happen where I lose one of my villagers, I would have to kick out Bora because his house is the least developed.

Interior design for Mayor Malis’ house. Because she’s the mayor and my most played character, I naturally finished her house the fastest. Her house is also a "traditional" house with a living room, bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom so it was easier for me to plan out because I've made tons of rooms like this before. My other characters have themed rooms that I need to think a little more about. She also has the smallest house (no side rooms, only a backroom, second floor, and basement).

Unfinished Parts of Borei

Thank you to Snow of Flowert and Yuki of... her many wonderful towns! For continually helping me with my items.
Interior Design for Nary, Sann, and Bora's houses. So far I've only completed 3 rooms out of 6 for Nary's Palace and 1 room out of 6 for Sann's. Bora's house is completely untouched. However, the exteriors are all complete and I do have a basic idea of how to design the insides. Now it's just a matter of obtaining the items I can't get in my own towns. For example, the weeding day items and region exclusives. I have been doing some online trades for those items, so hopefully I can get those out of the way first.

I prefer the blue shirt over the purple that's why there's more :-)
Have Villagers wear my shirt designs. I have two shirt designs up at Able Sisters that match the colour scheme and look of my town. I've been itching to get the last few villagers to wear them, although it is not something I can force and it's not like I can send them a custom design in the mail. I've taken up all slots at Able Sisters with my designs so hopefully they will get the message.

Train Station Remodel to Zen. I just need a few more visits (possibly under 20) in order to obtain the plans to remodel my train station! I actually love my original roof (blue) because it goes with my town colours. But a zen train station would be so much better! The only town I've achieved this 100-visitor feat was my very first town I got in 2013 (which was reset for Borei) called Kenka. I was on a trading frenzy back in those days, so acquiring 100 visits was easy. Thankfully the last few visits can probably be done with the rest of my trades and with friends.

Find a suitable DA-update time in June/July. My town looks the most magical when the hydrangeas are in bloom, so I would need to find a suitable time during the June 16th-July 6th period. My only criteria is that it is during 4am or 6pm-7pm and that it is not raining. I don't really like rain in ACNL unless it's a very heavy thunderstorm. Sundown is a perfect time because it fits my town's theme and the natural light in my houses are just right! But I love the 4am music so much.
