This series has been a staple in my life ever since I was a teenager, and now into my 30s. To say I grew up with this game would be an understatement. It’s been with me through every stage of my life, and I imagine it always will be. It was also one of the driving forces that inspired me to create pixel art when I was younger, and eventually to pursue art in my adult life.
Although I've shared my AC adventures on other pockets of the internet, it never really occured to me to post my screenshots on Instagram or other social media platforms. I’ve always felt more drawn to blogging, which was a big part of my childhood and early internet days. So that’s why when I thought about compiling my screenshots somewhere again, I decided to come back to this blog.
I started Two Trees in 2019 to document the end of my New Leaf era. The name Two Trees referred to the fact that I had two ACNL towns, Tinytree and Borei. While closing off the end of ACNL, I had the intention of blogging daily about my New Horizon island, Tansan. That didn’t quite happen… but somehow I found myself returning to this blog six years later after the Resort Hotel 3.0 Update.
My hope is to continue documenting my little gaming adventures here for as long as I can, through however many Animal Crossing games are still to come. Hopefully, I will able to somewhat catch up on posts I missed during ACNH’s lifespan. Although I probably wont be able to keep it up in any sort of daily manner, I would at least like to use it as a space where I can come back and share my favorite builds or moments.
I understand that in this day in age, blogs may not be as instantly gratifying as viewing content elsewhere, but there’s something deeply satisfying about seeing everything within the larger context of my island or town’s story, even if I’m not the greatest writer or storyteller.
Initially, I thought that even if this blog were public, it would probably only be for my own eyes. But however you found your way here, I hope you enjoy reading my silly posts as much as I enjoyed writing them!
Jules
