Tansan Over The Years

First of all, happy belated 6th anniversary to ACNH and my town, Tansan!

I’ve been slowly working on updating my DA after the 3.0 update for a while now, and I’m finally done! I also took a complete detour from my initial plan of a regular blog post, where I wanted to share photos alongside descriptions of each area much like I did for Tinytree and Borei in ACNL. Instead, I decided to make a detailed video tour! I wanted to get this all up by the 20th but the video and gathering photos for this post took some time. But whatever, anniversaries are kind of abritrary anyways.

Since the full walkthrough is already covered in the video, I wanted to take the opportunity to focus more on how I planned the island as a whole and how I’ve continued to play and evolve it over time. Instead of my usual area by area tour, I will share some before and afters of the builds you see in the tour, as well as general photos from Tansan’s early days up until now (since I neglected this blog since 2019 lol). If anything, I hope it offers a bit of inspiration for building your own “forever island” as people call it. Above is also a map of each area that I drew a couple years ago and edited for the update. February Recap + IKI's Fantasy Life Birthday

Another winter has passed on Tansan and the snow has finally melted. The grass is back! There were a few events that happened February quite close to each other, so I wanted to do a general February recap as Tansan saw an unusual amount of activity compared to the last few years. This post will cover: Valentines Day, Festivale, Lunar New Year, and a bit of a departure, but IKI’s birthday on Fantasy Life.

Tansan Resort Hotel Room Design (Part 2)

This post will cover the last 4 main rooms I decided on for Tansan's Resort Hotel. For these rooms I settled for the theme of Luxurious, Japanese-Retro, Modern, and Exquisite. Part of me wanted to try some different styles I don't normally do so it doesn't look too similar between rooms, such as the Diner room or Dreamy room, but I decided to just leave those ones to VIPs when they come to visit.

What Ever Happened to Quillson?

I know I said I was going to post all my main hotel rooms first, but I wanted to make an exception for a Very Important Duck I wasn't expecting to run into.

I was able to add a bit more to Tansan’s history or "lore" with the Resort Hotel Update now that old villagers can return to visit. There’s only a handful of villagers who moved out of Tansan since 2020, including Quillson, so I was interested to see if they would return and if they would remember us… and they do! This post is going to catch up on what happened to Tansan's original smug since he moved out all those years ago.

Tansan Resort Hotel Room Design (Part 1)

The Animal Crossing New Horizons Resort Hotel 3.0 update has been out for a few weeks now, and I have to say it did spark a renewed interest in returning to my game just to casually design and make some small edits here and there on my island. I really love seeing the tourists around and making the island feel more alive. I look forward to seeing who is visiting every day. I’ve already run into many old villagers from past games and had fun designing their VIP rooms 😎

This post will cover Part 1 of my completed hotel rooms, rooms 1-4. I will post rooms 5-8 a bit later because I'm still tweaking and revisiting some. Maybe I'll dedicate another post to my favorite VIP rooms after I've compiled a few, but I generally forget to take pictures of those.

SIX YEARS LATER???

poqu, iki, and i celebrating iki's birthday in HD

I don’t know what compelled me to come back to this blog. It feels like a relic of the past to me, like a timecapsule meant only for my eyes. But for some reason I wanted to come back to it to give my island the love it deserves! I initially made this blog back in 2019 to celebrate my time playing New Leaf, with the intention of documenting the beginnings of island life in 2020. That obviously never happened! With this update maybe it’s finally time to “immortalize” my island in my very own personal timecapsule as well.
